Position: Project Manager

Location: Buffalo, NY -- Saratoga Springs, NY -- Bradenton, FL

Description: PointSource is seeking a project manager with strong experience in software development projects. The ideal candidate will have approximately 10+ years of experience and be a self starter. This individual will be able to recognize opportunities with clients to improve existing business processes and be able to suggest solutions utilizing a variety of technologies and platforms as well. Therefore, a high level understanding of current technologies, platforms, methodologies and strategies will provide a solid foundation to assist our clients in enabling their businesses through business process optimization solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • The project manager will be responsible for the overall execution and delivery of projects to PointSource's clients.
  • Providing effective communication with all stakeholders of the project proactively is critical.
  • Anticipate risks and effectively communicate these issues to management, along with creative solutions, is expected.
  • The project manager will be responsible for the project schedule, budget, scope and overall quality.
  • Providing written documentation and formalized processes within projects is also required.
  • Oversight of multiple project teams in a variety of development environments and methods, including agile development methodologies.
  • Maintain and build knowledge of current technologies, platforms, methodologies and strategies to support existing projects or create opportunities with existing clients.
  • Identifies new business opportunities.

Position: Cognos Solution Architect

Location: Tampa, FL

Description: Due to continued growth and investment into PointSource’s Business Intelligence practice, we are seeking a Cognos Solution Architect to help customers build and execute a Cognos strategy. The individual should have familiarity with Cognos Release 8.4 and 10 and have approximately 5+ years experience implementing Business Intelligence solutions with Cognos.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect effective business intelligence solutions for PointSource’s clients.
  • Oversee the architectural design, development, customization and integration efforts to deliver these solutions.
  • Design and map models to deliver dashboards, scorecards, reports and ad hoc reporting environments using of any Cognos based tools.
  • Work with business/customer stakeholders as well as the application development team to deliver solutions implemented within defined best practices and development standards.
  • Work with customers on upgrade strategies from Cognos 8.x to release 10.
  • Understand and be able to recommend a combination of Cognos tools to implement specific solutions for customers.
  • Work with customers to develop requirements, communicate business intelligence capabilities, and deliver functional specifications.
  • Prepare and communicate technical specifications to the application development team.
  • Responsible for keeping track and communicating emerging technologies in the business intelligence space, especially within the Cognos brand.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cognos 8.x suite of tools, particularly 8.4.
  • Experience with delivering Cognos solutions in a cloud based environment.
  • Experience with Cognos in a data warehouse environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Cognos SDK, including actual customization work utilizing the SDK.
  • Java programming background a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field.

Position: BPM Solution Architect

Location: United States

Description: The Business Process Management (BPM) Solution Architect performs a technical role in PointSource client business process management engagements. The candidate will provide technical leadership in the areas of solution identification, requirements management, technical architecture, development and implementation using IBM's Business Process Management suite or similar BPM platform.

Required Skills:
At a minimum level, the Solution Architect will have had hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Deep experience solutioning and architecting complex BPM solutions
  • Prior experience integrating systems, application lifecycle management, and distributed architectures
  • Design and development of enterprise service bus or service oriented architecture solutions.
  • Business process modeling using cloud based solutions such as IBM Blueworks Live
  • Expert skills in at least one business process management technology platform (e.g. WebSphere Lombardi Edition, WebSphere Process Server, IBM BPM Manager, or similar)
  • Proven leadership in a variety of client situations such as sales, delivery, or development

Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of distributed computing, reliable messaging, database technology, performance optimization
  • SQL, PL/SQL, DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server
  • Development experience using XML, XSD, SOAP, Web Services, REST/JSON, SOA, HTTP/S

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate technical solutions to executive management, customer and PointSource
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Travel to client sites up to 75% of the time
  • English: Fluent
