Case Study: Huhtamaki

Huhtamaki, a global consumer and specialty packaging company, required a solution to produce reports against a company wide Microsoft SQL Server database. The database contained more then 2,500 tables in order to track work-related incidents and injuries.

PointSource worked closely with Huhtamaki to design a solution that could be implemented through the organization. The reports that PointSource would design, develop and implement were incorporated into standards provided by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and approved by the Department of Labor. PointSource also devised a solution to enable these reports to be delivered in portable file formats such as Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel files. The reporting application devised by PointSource was built on Microsoft's .Net platform, and integrated other technologies such as Crystal Reports.

Throughout the process, PointSource worked very closely with the stakeholders of the application as well as the end users in order to collect and define requirements, conduct product testing and design a deployment scenario that would be successful to numerous manufacturing facilities and office locations around the globe.
